Who are we?
We are ACT2, Amateur Collective for Theatre. As a foundation for musical theatre, established in January 2026, we perform musicals with a group of young amateurs. Our performances feature a cast of around 18-20 people and a live band. Experience with musical theatre is not required. Our rehearsal leaders aim to create a safe environment to grow and learn with and from each other. Everyone brings their own talents into the mix!
Our Goal
Our group is not only diverse in terms of level and experience, we also have people from different language backgrounds. Our entire production is in English, so people who do not speak Dutch, can also become a part of our projects. An additional goal of ACT2 is to contribute to the non-Dutch cultural offerings in the Netherlands. We would love to bridge the gap between people with non-Dutch language backgrounds and Dutch theatre.
Our Projects
What does a project with ACT2 look like? Our cast rehearsals are every Thursday evening, band rehearsals on Tuesday evening. Next to these regular rehearsals, we have some rehearsal days on Saturdays. The crew members mostly work independently, but we also host a few creative sessions where we come together and work on large decor pieces and complicated props.
Structure
The backbone of the foundation are the Artistic Team and the Production Team. But ACT2 is not just hard work, it is also a group of like-minded young people! Therefore, also have two committees that all cast/band/crew members can join.

Leads the rehearsals, and creates the vision, dance moves, role division, and everything else to make the show come together on stage.
production team
Handles all of the organisational tasks around the actual show.
promoco
The Promotion Committee makes sure the social media stays up to date, the production poster looks great, and everyone around us knows what’s happening at ACT2.

The Activities Committee organises activities like potluck dinners, bowling, or movie nights, outside of rehearsals.
The Board
Our board consists of the founders and owners of ACT2, and we would like to introduce them here. Fenna Berger and Marieke Pouw are our chairpeople, the secretary is Evan Nijveld, and the money is managed by Treasurer Thalis Gottenbos.
